ASH welcomes Queen's ban on tobacco advertising

Responding to the announcement in the Queen's speech today that the government is to ban tobacco advertising, ASH spokesperson, Amanda Sandford said:

"This is wonderful news. ASH is delighted that the new Government is committed to ending tobacco advertising. We look forward to working with the government to ensure that effective legislation is implemented to end all forms of tobacco promotion including sponsorship and indirect advertising. This will demonstrate clearly the government's commitment to tackling the tobacco epidemic and will have a major impact on public health."
